Telling Book Art Stories

As part of the Marches Makers Festival 2024 we hosted our first solo exhibition in Kington Parish Hall over the May Bank Holiday weekend. We welcomed almost 700 people through the doors over the three days of the Festival, introducing a whole new audience to the world of artists' books.

Telling stories of the Welsh border region and beyond, through a range of book arts forms from the simple concertina to more sculptural works, our works variously featured printmaking, letterpress, calligraphy, papercutting, collage, photography, stitch and more.

Through a handling collection of book structure maquettes, we invited both new and existing audiences to discover and enhance their joy of book arts and explore the possibilities of different structures. There were demonstrations of simple structures, as well as three workshops designed to give a practical introduction to the world of artists' books.

We were honoured and delighted to be awarded The Christine Forrester Prize for the most inspiring exhibit at the Festival.
