Fairs and past events
Book Arts Fairs
Marches Book Arts Group and individual members regularly participate in several well established book arts fairs, including:
Turn the Page Artists Book Fair
The Poetry Pharmacy, 2020 and 2021
We were pleased to have two opportunities to decorate the front window of this unique venue in Bishop's Castle.
The Charity Bookshop, August 2019
Our window display at The Charity Bookshop in Craven Arms was based on the theme 'Books do furnish a room' and featured a variety of techniques and 3D book art.
Attingham Park, 2015
We made individual books inspired by a study day in the walled garden at Attingham Park, and members also created a collective work in the form of a carousel. The exhibition took place in the Gardeners’ Bothy at Attingham, and the carousel was also displayed on the Hay Book Arts Trail.
Angels, 2015
Clun parish church in south Shropshire was the location of a heavenly host of angels for the Christmas period of 2015.
World War I Exhibition, 2014 and 2018
Marches Book Arts Group created books and artwork for a World War I exhibition that travelled to four venues in 2014, coinciding with World War I centenary events. It opened at Llanfair Waterdine Church in June, then went to St George's Church in Clun, on to Leintwardine and finally on Remembrance Sunday to St Michael's Church in Waters Upton.
In 2018 some of our artists again contributed to the commemorative display in Clun church.
Much Wenlock Poetry Festival, April 2012
As a group, we took part in this festival of poetry in the beautiful town of Much Wenlock.
